The Foundation

The Festival Place Cultural Arts Foundation is committed to the residents of Strathcona County to ensure that our community gets the best of programming available for our artists. There are many grants that Festival Place has received over the years through the application of the Festival Place Cultural Arts Foundation that enable us to offer grants and scholarships to our youth. The Festival Place Cultural Arts Foundation has several topic areas ongoing that include workshops for youth, supporting Master classes/artist in residence programs and continuing to support Under the Big Top and the Black-and-White fundraiser.

Festival Place Cultural Arts Foundation manages the Black & White event held annually at Festival Place. This event brings our members and supporters together for a evening of great food, silent and live auctions as well as live entertainment.

With funds raised, the Festival Place Cultural Arts Foundation is able to collaborate in presenting Under the Big Top, a summer circus camp enjoyed by children in our community. Under the Big Top receives an overwhelming enthusiastic response from parents, children and local artists.

In the past the festival has included theatre shows featuring multi-talented professional instructors as well as a Puppet Clinic, which was free to the community. Children of all ages enjoyed a delightful afternoon building and playing with puppets and attending professional puppet shows. People attending listened to the sounds of strolling musicians, laughed while had their faces painted, and indulged in picnic foods.
