Huge congratulations to Morgan Dunham, the recipient of the Leo and Vivian $1,000 Scholarship!  Morgan was awarded this incredible honour at Festival Place, right before the unforgettable performances by Beatrice Love and Martin Kerr at the final Patio Series of the season at Festival Place.

Morgan has shown an outstanding commitment to her dance training, reflected in her many achievements and experiences. Her dedication and technical skill led her to train at the prestigious Royal Winnipeg Ballet for two years and, most recently, to be accepted into the Alberta Ballet Post Graduate Program. Morgan also completed the Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 ballet examination with Distinction and frequently receives recognition at local dance competitions, earning numerous scholarships and awards for her exceptional talent. These accomplishments highlight her technical excellence and unwavering dedication to seeking opportunities that elevate her artistry and skills.

“The professional training I received tested my strength and love for ballet—it was extremely challenging, especially while growing up. It confirmed my dream and passion of sharing ballet. This opportunity gave me insight into performing ballet as a professional career.” – excerpt from Morgan’s submission.

Morgan, we wish you all the best of luck at Alberta Ballet’s Post Graduate Program—keep shining bright!

2022 Winner of the Leo and Vivian Dance Scholarship

Congratulations to Aidan Muth, recipient of the Leo and Vivian Broks Dance Scholarship for 2022.

Judges Comments:

We were really pleased with the fact that Aidan stuck in there during the Pandemic and kept up dancing and training until he was able to pursue his passion.  His reference letter from Cathy Allen spoke volumes.  He is a little older and more mature and will be training in Vancouver at Dance Harbour which is a fabulous Canadian Training Opportunity to help dancers pursue their dance careers. This year we would like to see the Leo & Vivian Broks Scholarship be awarded to Aidan Muth.

2020 Winner of the Leo and Vivian Dance Scholarship

Congratulations to Abby Van Twuyver, recipient of the Leo and Vivian Broks Dance Scholarship for 2020. Abby will be furthering her dance studies at the Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver and we wish her all the best in her chosen career.
